On my 40th birthday I received an old camera as a gift. An analogue camera. I was  thrilled. Analogue photography requires precision and longer, meticulous prep-work. One of the reasons for that was the cost of film. Each roll film consisted of 36 photographs - so this type of photography was very costly. Only few people would engage in it as a hobby.

I received this camera when I was working for Voice of Peace. Unbeknownst to me, it was to become my first documentary project. I don’t believe anyone owns such extensive documentation of the Voice of Peace. Many of the photographs documenting life at the station were shot using my camera. Everyone cooperated with me.

Then came the Rishon LeZion winery mural, made by Gershom von Schwarze and his team of painters. Documenting their process as they executed the same fresco technique used by Italian Old Masters hundreds of years ago was thoroughly fascinating.

After the winery project came the “Gulf War'' documentation period, thanks to my late friend Daliah Meroz - who asked me to document IETV’s activity during the war. It was then and there when I decided to expand and document the various media personalities who stood in the public eye during that time. Developing this personal project also afforded me the opportunity to document GLZ’s merge with Reshet B.

I quit my photography around the mid 90s, following my son’s fall in Lebanon.

The photographs on this website stand as testimony to those years.

I would like to point out the inferior quality of some of thffaouese shots. The negatives might have been kept in designated sleeves, but time still found a way to leave its mark on them.
